Vehicles are once again enabled for Arena and the Fortnite World Cup Online Open for May 25 and 26 after fixing a glitch that caused players to be stuck.
A massive game-breaking bug popped up in Fortnite Battle Royale last week that caused players to become stuck in vehicles like the Baller and leave players completely vulnerable to eliminations.
Epic Games disabled vehicles for that weekend’s World Cup qualifiers as they worked to iron out the bugs, which have now been fixed and vehicles have once again been enabled for competitive players.
Epic Games employee Loomin announced the vehicles have returned in a Reddit thread.
“We have fixed the issue with players getting stuck inside vehicles in the latest update,” he wrote. “Vehicles are now back in Arena, and will also be enabled for the Fortnite World Cup Online Open this weekend. Best of luck!”
Players that relied on Ballers and Quadcrashers for mobility will now have those options back. Fortnite Season 9 did introduce the Slipstreams for a way to traverse the map without the need for vehicles, meaning when they were disabled players weren’t at a complete disadvantage.

For better or worse, Ballers are back and look for them to play an important role in the qualifiers going forward, as they have been in the past.
Fortnite World Cup’s meta has shifted greatly
Players who were able to qualify in for the first week of the World Cup are now looking at an almost completely different game now.
Gone is the Pump Shotgun, a weapon that many players relied on for eliminations, and in its place is the Combat Shotgun.
We also have to mention the Drum Gun, a weapon voted on by the community for a return that is now running rampant in the competitive scene.
It’s now easier than ever to qualify for the World Cup – or harder depending on how you look at it.
