Colleagues who met while working at McDonald’s plan to fill their wedding with plenty of the chain’s iconic themes and favorite foods.

Former McDonald’s workers Abigail Armienta and Joseph Gomez met in 2016 while working at the fast food chain in Roseville, CA.

Though they worked side-by-side in the restaurant, the two’s relationship didn’t ignite until their colleagues blindly set them up on a movie date.

Knowing they’d hit it off, their friends from work told them they’d all be meeting at the theater to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming.

However, Joseph told ABC10 that he had an inclination about the setup after his friend admitted nobody else would be showing up but him and Abigail.

Now, the couple have been together for over six years – and even got engaged in November 2023.

What’s more, they plan to not only decorate their September 2024 wedding with makeshift golden arches but they will also be having McDonald’s cheeseburgers and apple pies at their reception.

A former colleague of Abigail and Joseph said their relationship is a true “McLove story.”

Not only that, but their former colleagues will be in attendance at their wedding. “I don’t think we’d be here without McDonald’s,” Abigail said.

Neither Abigail nor Joseph works at McDonald’s anymore. However, she told the news outlet that the two of them wouldn’t be where they are today without having worked there, as the chain helped pay for their college textbooks and provided them with scholarship opportunities.

“Our first job is kind of a memorable one, but also they made it super important because they helped us not only with figuring out next steps for education but also our careers,” she said.

The couple’s former general manager also commented on their relationship, saying “It’s a true McLove story.”

“They shared the same values and had similar upbringings, and I felt they were truly made for each other,” the colleague said. “When they started dating, I joked that I better be invited to the wedding, and now I’m delighted to say I am. I couldn’t be happier for them.”
