FFXIV Endwalker Crystal Conflict: New PvP mode
Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker is introducing a new small-scale PvP mode called Crystal Conflict. It’s a five-versus-five mode based on short matches that can either be casual, ranked, or custom and take place on different maps.
Moreover, they’ve decided to remove role restrictions. Instead, they’ll be replaced with actions and jobs specific to the mode. They believe this system will put less pressure on players to perform.
It also includes a rewards system that allows players to unlock titles, achievements, and other accolades for their efforts throughout each season.
FFXIV Endwalker PvP system overhaul
It’s not all about Crystal Conflict, though. Final Fantasy XIV Online’s general PvP system is being overhauled, too.
Series
The developers are introducing series periods that run alongside Crystal Conflict seasons. This allows players to earn additional rewards for participating in PvP content by raising their series level over a specified period.
Rewards include everything from gear and mounts to special tokens that can be exchanged for items and more.
Calling Card System
Endwalker also introduces a new feature dubbed the Calling Card system. It allows players to have customizable profiles that are displayed at the beginning of each PvP match. They’ll also be shown in the player search window.
Backgrounds and other additional customization options will be added as rewards throughout each season and series.

What is Endwalker’s story about?
Following on from earlier expansions, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, players are advised to play these first before hurtling into the Final Days.
Endwalker sees the Warrior of Light finally take on the Garlean Empire, hoping to topple the expansionist power once and for all. With mad king Zenos at the helm seeking a confrontation with the player’s Warrior of Light, you’ll have to take down the tyrant to finally restore peace.
However, with cult leader Fandaniel pulling Zenos’ strings, the Final Days draw ever closer for Eorzea. With the apocalypse on the horizon, killing Zenos won’t be enough.
This arc brings an end to the storyline that has been ongoing throughout FFXIV Online, with a new story promised to drop in the main patches following Endwalker’s release.
