Escape from Tarkov has been a hit among streamers as of late, and as a result, there’s some learning curve – something Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar’s chat found out the hard way.
As EFT continues to grow in popularity on Twitch, more and more viewers will be introduced to it, and they’ll have plenty of questions of their own.
Tim’s chat was pestering him about the darkness of the game and when he tried to fix it for them, Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo quickly explained that he shouldn’t give in to their demands.
Escape from Tarkov is a pretty dark game, so you can imagine how that could be difficult for a viewer if they can’t even see anything.
After his chat pestered him enough, Tim finally gave in and tried to adjust something to make the experience a bit better for them, but quickly found out that wasn’t exactly possible.
DrLupo took the opportunity to explain to Tim’s chat that the game is just dark and they’ll have to deal with it.
“Bottom line is, your chat isn’t used to you playing a dark that doesn’t have neon colors everywhere because they wanna see you crank 90s in Fortnite,” he said.
He then mentioned a bunch of random names and told them all to be quiet about the brightness.
“If little Jimmy, and Andy, and Kayden, and Aiden are in chat, they can just shut their mouths. The game is just dark. That’s the way the game is. Welcome to Tarkov. I love you.”

Of course, DrLupo going off on chat isn’t exactly a new thing and he certainly means no harm by it, so the viewers shouldn’t be too offended.
While it’s true there are no such things as dumb questions, Twitch chat does come dangerously close to proving otherwise at some points.
As for why so many streamers are jumping on the Escape from Tarkov bandwagon? Beginning on December 30 and running until January 5, the developers are featuring Twitch drops, meaning viewers can earn new in-game items just by having their accounts linked to Twitch.
To earn these items, they’ll have to watch a streamer who has the drops function enabled, so many of the big streamers are taking advantage of the sudden influx of viewers by trying the game out.
Many of them are finding a lot to like, such as Dr Disrespect, and even Tim has enjoyed what’s he’s played so far.

DrLupo, on the other hand, has been playing the game long before the drops became enabled, so he’s a lot more knowledgeable about the game than the new streamers are, hence his playful outburst at Tim’s chat.
Let’s just hope Tim can figure out some sort of way to adjust the lighting to make the experience better for viewers in the future.
