However, Snapchat users across the globe are reporting seeing a red dot in their profiles and not knowing what they mean. Some users have noticed several red dots on the app’s home page, appearing on the chat, friends, Spotlight, and Memories icons while in the camera view.

What does the red dot mean on Snapchat?
The red dot buy your profile or bitmoji usually means that you have a notification or message that you haven’t opened.

It could be a new Snap, a friend request, or a creator’s post that could make red dots appear on users’ home screens.
To make the red dot go away, simply open the Snapchat app and open all of your messages and notifications, which can also be found in your profile. Once you have opened everything, the red dot should disappear.
If the red dot is still there after you’ve opened your notifications, try to log out of the app and then log back in again or restart your phone, which should reset the app and fix the glitch.
