Twitch unbanned Austin ‘Mr Wobbles’ O’Brien from the platform after the music artist issued a tearful apology and took responsibility for getting William ‘WillNeff’ Neff banned.
Twitch bans don’t just prevent streamers from broadcasting from their own channel. Often, banned streamers cannot appear on other streamers’ channels, too.
O’Neil was banned three years ago for “freaking out” on someone who was allegedly harassing him.
However, it’s finally been lifted following the recent debacle where he interacted with fellow streamers on the OfflineTV Rust server, including WillNeff, which ultimately got him banned too.
Hey just so there is no confusion I was ban for “aiding account suspension evasion” most likely because I was chilling with @mrwobblesmusic. When I heard @cyr had been given a warning I muted stream when I spoke with @mrwobblesmusic today but apparently that was not sufficient.

After WillNeff was banned, O’Brien issued a tearful apology to him and his fans.
He said: “I’m so sorry to Will, I’m so sorry to [fellow streamer] Cyr, I’m so sorry to the people who made me feel like I could just hang out. I don’t want to cause anyone to lose their channel – I don’t want to be that guy.”
O’Brien further explained that he will no longer be on the OTV server to avoid getting more players in trouble with Twitch.
“It genuinely sucks, because I love doing what I do,” he added.

However, Neff urged O’Brien not to be sorry, explaining that he was not “in any way responsible for what happened.”
And now, after both receiving an outpour of support, the pair worked together to try and get Mr Wobbles unbanned from the platform after all this time, and their appeal was successful.

WillNeff will still need to serve out the rest of his short-term ban. But the way he’s handled it has certainly won him more fans.
