Tana Mongeau unbanned from VidCon after TanaCon debacle

YouTube: Tana Mongeau

Popular YouTuber Tana Mongeau has revealed that her long-standing dispute with VidCon is over, as she will be attending the London version of the event in late February.

Back in 2017, Mongeau attended VidCon after being invited, but wasn’t listed as one of their “featured creators” – something she claimed prevented her from entering exclusive areas and didn’t have security around her as she traveled across the event floor.

In response, Tana launched TanaCon in 2018, and ran her event on the same weekend as VidCon. However, it never exactly went as planned, as 15,000 unregistered fans turned up, ultimately shutting down the convention.

However, fans received some surprising news on January 21 as the official VidCon Twitter account tweeted that Tana would be hosting a meet-and-greet at the upcoming VidCon London event.

“Wait so yeah!!! VidCon London,” the YouTuber Tweeted. “I found out I could actually attend less than 12 hours ago and am definitely in shock… Something I never thought I’d be able to do in America let alone London. Thank you guys for another mind-blowing opportunity like this and welcoming my growth.”

The former Mrs. Jake Paul followed it up with a second tweet, gushing about her excitement of traveling to the UK and meeting fans from overseas.

“Can’t wait to hug all of you in London, and celebrate some really special stuff with you,” she continued. “Thank you VidCon for not only welcoming me back once but twice.”

Even though VidCon London doesn’t kick off until February 20, Tana’s inclusion means she joins a stacked cast of creators heading to the event that’s being held at the ExCeL Centre.

Fellow YouTube stars like Ali-A and Jacksepticeye will also be in attendance, but there is still plenty of time for others to be announced – though, not many of them will have had such a fraught history with the event as Mongeau.
