Streamer bashes Twitch for ‘double standards’ after Amouranth unban

A streamer has lashed out at Twitch for their ‘recent lack of consistency’ when doling out punishments across the platform.

On September 9 it was reported that popular IRL streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth‘ Siragusa had been banned from the streaming platform after accidentally exposing herself. This decision was rapidly overturned on September 12 when the controversial personality was reinstated on Twitch.

Without any form of explanation from Twitch admins, the figure was forgiven and handed her platform back while other streamers such as Fareeha Andersen, Overwatch content creator for Gen. G, have received consequences for far lesser offenses.

Fellow Twitch streamer ‘scarycheese62,’ has angrily reacted to the recent controversy, slamming his desk and unleashing a fiery tirade.

“F*cking Amouranth wears 10 times shorter shorts than that and nothing f*cking happens. [Andersen] is wearing workout shorts, basically men’s shorts dude. I don’t f*cking get it.”

The unlucky Overwatch streamer was met with a strong warning and a 90 day probation period on Twitch, following a seemingly innocuous IRL stream.

She recently fired back at the streaming platform in a viral Tweet. Joking that she doesn’t “even own lingerie.”

On the other side of the coin, Amouranth, one of the biggest IRL streamers on the platform, is constantly skirting the line of what is acceptable under Twitch guidelines. Yet even when she falters, arguably due to her popularity, she’s rarely met with appropriate consequences.

The frustration on display in this hilarious clip is just one of numerous examples of Twitch admins largely missing the mark when it comes to properly enforcing the guidelines of the platform.

The Twitch community guidelines explicitly state that “sexually suggestive content or activities are also prohibited.”
