Popular Twitch streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris was left confused after being told he couldn’t play a game he’d already started due to language used later down the line, that could see him falling foul of the platform’s community guidelines.
While many gaming broadcasters use Twitch to show off their domination in one particular game, plenty of others venture into the world of variety streaming – where they play everything from new releases to whatever is popular at the time.
One of the leading names in this scene is Sodapoppin, who has been streaming since 2011. Unlike some other variety streamers, though, he dives into some of the worst games on offer with his “Sh*tshow Saturday” streams, finding some pretty strange storylines, bugs, and mechanics.

However, during his January 24 broadcast, he found himself unable to carry on playing ‘Valakas Story’ after being warned about language used in the game that could possibly see him being banned from Twitch.
“Wait what? I see his message,” the streamer said while looking off stream. “Ok, I’m being told I can’t play this game because there are words in Russian that can’t be said on stream. I’m not even kidding, dead serious.”
Upon hearing this, though, members of his chat began spamming that both Sebastian ‘Forsen’ Fors and Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel had played through the game themselves on-stream. “Well, they got away with it then, I can’t.”

While his fans tried to convince him to change his mind and ignore whatever warning he had received, Soda said that he didn’t want to risk it and was moving on. “No one understands Twitch’s rules, stream – no one gets it. Sh*t is just really hard to follow.
“All I know is I was told I should reconsider playing it because that game had some slurs that were not really Twitch TOS friendly. You can look at others who played the game and they’re just fine, I’m not going to risk sh*t. I’m just not, it’s not worth it.”

Even though it may have upset many of his viewers to move on from the game, it was pretty clear that Soda wasn’t even going to entertain the idea of returning.
Yet, it wasn’t like he’d just lost hours of progress as he was only a few minutes into Valakas Story and could easily move on to start something else.
