During TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2019, Scooter Braun defended 100 Thieves CEO Matthew ‘Nadeshot‘ Haag’s handling of the departure of Nick ‘NICKMERCS‘ Kolcheff from the organization.
Back in May 2019, NICKMERCS left 100 Thieves after dropping many hints about it up until that point. In the midst of his exit, he took several shots at Nadeshot, saying he broke promises made as a friend and business partner.
Nick explained he wanted nothing to do with the 100 Thieves CEO anymore, and days later, he joined rival organization FaZe Clan.
Nadeshot hasn’t gone very in-depth with what happened behind the scenes, and didn’t seem like he was going to at TechCrunch, but Braun stepped in to defend the CEO.
“Matt never broke his word on anything that he did,” he said. “You know, I think sometimes people use their platform in this world to say whatever they want to say as long as they have an audience to say it and sometimes those things aren’t based in fact.”
He explains he was proud of Nadeshot for not saying anything about all the drama, but instead remaining silent and taking the high road.

“Some of the things that were said publicly that Matt never responded to, I was proud that he didn’t respond because he did the right thing and let the organization speak for itself.”

Scooter Braun entered 100 Thieves as an investor in October 2018, joining a star-studded lineup of other investors that also features music superstar Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham.
