A man was saved by an employee of McDonald’s after he made them aware that he was being held hostage.

A 33-year-old male was shopping at Walmart in Sweetwater, Florida when a woman approached him and asked if he needed a ride.

When he accepted the offer, he hopped inside her U-Haul truck and was soon accused of stealing the woman’s credit card, which turned the encounter eerie.

Though the victim wasn’t able to get away while in the Walmart parking lot, the woman stopped at McDonald’s — giving the victim a chance to tell an employee that he was being held hostage.

Victim was bitten by kidnapper

Allegedly, the victim knew his captive Cristina Arrojo as well as her assailant, Marcelo Asenjo Garcia, as the three were roommates.

Though Arrojo accused the victim of stealing her credit card, he denied having done so. When he tried to get out of the truck after their disagreement, Garcia punched him and forced him back inside the U-Haul.

While there, the victim attempted to call the police inside the bathroom but was unsuccessful when Arrojo bit him.

The victim then made contact with a McDonald’s employee who he was able to tell about his hostage situation.

The police were then notified, but the victims were gone by the time authorities arrived. However, Arrojo and Garcia were later found by police and arrested.

Arrojo and Garcia have both been charged with kidnapping. Arrojo has also been charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery, burglary, dealing in stolen property, organized scheme to defraud, and petit theft. The two are currently being held without bond.
