Popular Twitch streamer Saqib ‘LIRIK‘ Zahid was left gasping for oxygen after he tried to get some fresh air in space during a recent playthrough of Star Citizen.

When it comes to streaming on Twitch, broadcasters can choose to stick to a title that they know they’re good at or try their hand at playing a new game pretty much every day of their schedule. Choosing the latter is variety streaming, and it’s helped propel LIRIK to becoming one of the most popular streamers on the site.
The American streamer, who doesn’t use a face cam like many of his peers, will pretty much play a different game per stream, but he does have his staples of battle royale games and even GTA RP. Yet, recently, he tried his hand at Star Citizen and it didn’t go quite as planned.

During his October 20 stream, he had started up his playthrough of the highly-anticipated multiplayer title when one member of his chat pointed out that it was going to take 15 minutes of realtime before he reached his destination.
“15 minutes travel time? Bro, I’m fu**ing claustrophobic as s**t, I need to open a window,” he said, before turning to the side of his spacecraft and cracking open a spot.
Of course, with his this being outer space, you can’t exactly open a window to encounter a fresh breeze. Instead, LIRIK had opened one of his doors, hit exit, and watched as the game began dragging him into the cold and lifeless backdrop of nothingness.

“Oh fresh air, oh f**k, ahh,” screamed LIRIK as his plan was thrown back in his face and he had failed within the starting portion of the game.
As he was dragged further and further from his ship, the popular streamer carried on with his screams before turning and mocking that he was choking, seeing as he couldn’t exactly breathe in fresh oxygen.

Some players have already tested the game’s limitations during flight, having chosen to open the ship’s doors during ‘quantum travel’ and not been sucked into space.
For LIRIK, though, his blunder came through hitting the exit button and not opting to sit back down. It’s a lesson to be learnt, but he probably won’t be the only Star Citizen player to dive into space.
