YouTube star KSI has clarified his Twitter comment regarding British rapper “Slowthai,” after the music artist made overtly sexual remarks toward comedian Katherine Ryan at the NME Awards.

Slowthai, legal name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, became a subject of controversy across social media due to an incident in which he embraced Ryan on stage and asked her to “smell his cologne,” eventually spiraling his bit out of control.

“Babygirl, I don’t want to have to do this to you right now, but everybody… she needs to understand the levels right now,” he said. “…If you want to do something, see me later.”

That’s not all: Frampton later claimed that Ryan wanted him to “tend her flowers” in a later segment, which the comedian brushed off with a humorous, “You are younger than my babysitter.”

The situation quickly caught fire across the net, and KSI was one of the many faces to comment on the matter, as he was also an attendee of the awards ceremony.

“Slowthai you crazy motherf**ker,” KSI wrote with a few laughing emojis.

KSI attended the NME Awards in February 2020, where rapper Slowthai made overtly sexual comments toward comedian Katherine Ryan.

The YouTuber’s comment didn’t go unnoticed by critics, with one user, in particular, calling out the content creator for appearing to condone Slowthai’s inappropriate behavior.

“A man harasses a woman on stage & gets called a ‘crazy mother****er,’” radio host Andrea Zara replied. “Yo @KSIOlajidebt do better. I’ve seen the video… It’s not funny OR acceptable.”

However, KSI was quick to clarify the nature of his post, and clapped back at the critic in a reply tweet: “If you think that’s me condoning his actions, then you’re wrong. Last night he was out of order and should definitely be punished for it. Hopefully, he learns from his mistakes for the future, because he does still have a bright future ahead of him.”

Slowthai himself responded to the incident via social media on February 13, where he apologized to Ryan and offered her the title of “Hero of the Year” — the very award he’d accepted at the ceremony.

With KSI also standing as a massive face in the UK music scene, it comes as little surprise that he had something to say on the subject, although he made sure to distance himself from remarks that Slowthai himself also deemed as “shameful actions.”
