When a fan asked popular YouTuber KEEMSTAR to share a warning about a potential school shooting threat, the ‘Drama Alert’ host was happy to oblige, but thankfully it turned out to be a hoax.
On Sunday, September 23, a Snapchat was posted showing a handgun and the message “Don’t come to school tomorrow.” The location was marked as Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix.
The Snapchat was quickly brought to the attention of Phoenix police and school officials, who have taken measures to protect the school and increased security.
However, the same Snapchat image of the handgun was then edited by another user and shared once again, this time covering the name of Mountain Pointe High School, and instead supposedly threatening E.T Booth Middle School in Woodstock, Georgia.
In a peculiar turn of events, a Twitter user – claiming to be a student at Booth Middle School – wrote to KEEMSTAR, saying: “HELP! There is going to be a school shooting at my school tomorrow.”

KEEMSTAR didn’t take any chances, immediately sharing screenshots of the exchange, and posting it on Twitter again, mentioning the official accounts of Cherokee County Schools, Woodstock Police Deparment, and the FBI.

The account which initially sent KEEMSTAR the information has since clarified that the threat towards E.T Booth Middle School was in fact a hoax, taken from the real threat in Phoenix.

The Phoenix school, Mountain Pointe high, was open on Tuesday, September 25, with extra security measures in place, including the prohibitiion of all backpacks and a requirement for students to wear their school ID on them at all times.
