Accounts are frequently banned on TikTok, and you may have ended up being one of them — here’s everything you need to know about trying to get your account unbanned.
TikTok is one of the biggest social media platforms out there and is a hub for a huge range of viral content, from dances to recipes, trends, and more.
It’s also where thousands of influencers have started their careers, and over a billion people across the globe have made personal accounts to follow and interact with these creators, as well as to post their own content.
However, just like any other social media platform, there is also the possibility that your account could get banned on TikTok if you fail to adhere to the community guidelines, which cover things like hateful behavior, and dangerous acts.
If you’ve been permanently banned, here’s what you need to know about trying to get your account back.
How to get unbanned on TikTok
If you’ve been banned on TikTok, you do have the opportunity to appeal it, which could give you a chance of getting your account back. You’ll know you’ve been banned as you will receive a banner notification when you next open the app.

In order to submit an appeal, do as follows:
- Launch TikTok.
- Open the notification about your ban.
- Click ‘Appeal.’
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that your account will be unbanned, but if TikTok decides that your account should be restored, it will reinstate it.
