Popular YouTuber Ethan ‘H3H3’ Klein believes that Dr Disrespect’s ban from Twitch should serve as a warning to other IRL streamers, who sometimes cross the line in the pursuit of engaging content for their viewers.

IRL streams are now some of the most popular content on Twitch, with random interactions with strangers making for some crazy and wholesome moments, such as two streamers who accidentally bumped into each other while hitchhiking in Japan.

However, the nature of such streams can also lead to unsavory moments – such as a streamer being subjected to harassment on the streets of London, just weeks after being racially abused in Germany.

Recently, Twitch star Dr Disrespect was banned from the platform after livestreaming in a bathroom on multiple occasions at E3 2019, and H3H3 believes it should serve as a “wake up call” for other IRL streamers.

Speaking on his podcast, he said: “I think these IRL streamers need a wake up call because it’s a breeding ground for toxic behavior.”

The 31-year-old believes that while there is great IRL streamers, other content creators feel pressured by their audience to create interesting content and takes things too far as result, without the safety net of editing what they capture on film.

“Toxic streamers are under all this pressure to do something interesting and they push it too far,” Klein said. “You’re live in an uncontrolled environment and you have to be careful. There’s a big difference between being live in a studio.”

The length of Dr Disrespect’s ban is yet to be revealed, but the streamer sent out a response on Twitter, stating that a full-length video of the events will be released soon, and joked that his director ‘Alex’ was fired.

For now, the Champions Club will be forced to wait until the Doc regains control of his channel.
