Dr Disrespect explains why he’s loving Escape from Tarkov

Battlestate Games/Twitch: DrDisrespect

Dr Disrespect has explained why he is loving Escape from Tarkov, in a surprisingly positive Twitch clip taken from December 31.

Battlestate Games’ Escape from Tarkov originally released in the summer of 2016, as a realistic tactical first-person shooter, in the vein of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege. While the latter has experienced mainstream acclaim, the former has found a new lease of life on streaming platforms.

A number of popular streamers, including Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, have praised the game and shared it to their audiences. On December 31, the Doc became the latest to heap praise on Escape from Tarkov.

The Doc is known for playing a variety of games, regularly losing his cool and engaging in passionate rants about how games can improve. However, fans were surprised when, on New Year’s Eve, he fired nothing but compliments the way of Battlestate Games.

“This game’s kinda sick,” he said. “I’m not gonna lie – this game’s kinda sick. This game is pretty sweet – I get it. It’s not the fastest game, we’re not jumping out of vehicles, ponytail flapping in the wind.”

“[We’re not] getting struck by lightning,” he continued. “While we’re AKing somebody – two tapping them – using proximity chat. I know it’s not that type of violence, speed and momentum, but there is a certain level of intensity and build up.”

The Doc suggests he’s enjoying the game as a result of its change of pace – a much slower game than those he is accustomed too. This is a typical feature of tactical FPS games – where players may spend minutes holding one angle just to achieve one kill.

“I still have a lot to learn, obviously,” the Doc finished. While he’s fairly new to Tarkov, it seems the game is striking all the right chords with Twitch’s most passionate gamer.

The two-time’s audience found the Doc’s praise a nice change of pace – as the Doc is finding Escape from Tarkov in his first few days with the game.
