Logan Paul teases MMA switch after asking Chuck Liddell for advice

YouTuber Logan Paul’s combat sports career doesn’t seem to be over just yet, after asking former UFC Champion Chuck Liddell for advice regarding a possible stint in MMA.

Logan Paul has spent a lot of time inside a boxing ring over the last few years, squaring off against Brit JJ ‘KSI” Olatunji on two occasions, but currently holds no victories to his name, with a draw in the amateur bout and a decision loss in the professional clash.

This hasn’t dented his desire to compete though, and during an episode of his Impaulsive podcast, he again teased that he intends to move into mixed martial arts, and asked one of the sports all-time greats for advice.

While discussing the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion’s storied career, Logan Paul hinted that he would be jumping into the cage in the near future, asking Liddell for some words of wisdom about what was required to make it in MMA.

Paul asked: “What do you think makes a successful fighter in the UFC, and I ask for selfish reasons, I may find myself doing a stint in MMA.”

“For me, you need to be competent in wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and striking,” Liddell responded. “You need to be competent in all three, really good at one. You need to excel at one. You can mash them together any way you want, but to be at an elite level, you need to be competent at all three.”

It seems the 24-year-old is serious about moving into another combat sport, explaining: “I definitely want to fight MMA. I have a striking background now, I have a strong wrestling background. I’m going to start doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.”

When asked if Liddell would considering coaching, with a nod towards Logan, “The Iceman” didn’t shut down the possibility, so if Logan Paul does ever make it to the UFC octagon, the former champion with 13 knockout victories would undoubtedly be a great figure to have in his corner.
