Airrack explains why he’s potentially being sued over a YouTube video

Eric ‘Airrack’ Decker has been growing at a ludicrous rate throughout 2020, but has hit a little setback thanks to a legal threat made against him for his content.

Airrack’s subscriber count has skyrocketed since the end of 2019, taking him from just a couple thousand subscribers to over 100,000 before April had even hit.

His style of content seems perfect for YouTube, with a blend of inspiration from the likes of David Dobrik and Logan Paul clearly scattered throughout each video – but that appears to have landed him in some seriously hot water.

In a video posted on April 4, Airrack said: “If you’ve been following my channel for any period of time, what probably brought a lot of you guys to this channel was a certain video where I snuck into a certain event that may or may not have been a residential property.”

Though Airrack clearly can’t name anyone, he tried to give viewers as much detail as possible in what went down. He continued: “The person who owned the property did not like the video. It was a fun video. However, when you play on the line like a lot of my content does, this is what happens.”

He explains that he was asked by the individual’s legal representatives and essentially asked to remove the video from anywhere it was hosted, including the original YouTube upload. While he originally fought against it, he says he finally got a letter that said if he doesn’t delete the video, the individual will press charges and request reimbursement.

Airrack suggests that the requested reimbursement was in the “six figures,” (at least $100,000) so you can comprehend why he opted to delete the video eventually, though he says it was a matter of pride when it came to deleting his content.

Later in the video, he even shows footage of the phone call he had with the Los Angeles Police Department, who didn’t seem too put out by the contents of the video and actually thanked him for being more responsive than the individual involved.

Though we don’t know the person who attempted to sue Airrack for one of his videos, there was clearly a strong case to be made on either side – and the YouTuber might have got lucky this time.
