Gameloft has revealed new information on what to expect from Disney Dreamlight Valley updates for the rest of 2024, and fans are pleased with what’s in store.
In a blog post, the devs provided a glimpse of the next few updates, which are set to add Tiana, the final part of the A Rift in Time expansion, and much more to the cozy life sim.
Beyond these significant content additions, Gameloft also revealed a host of quality-of-life fixes and other changes coming to the game this year and beyond. Among these are player-requested features like a search bar for the Furniture and Wardrobe menus and improvements to Photo Mode and Scrooge’s store.
Additionally, PlayStation users will be able to join the rest of the Dreamlight Valley community through cross-platform multiplayer in the next update and cross-saves later in the year.
All of these upcoming changes have players excited for Disney Dreamlight Valley’s future despite previous concerns and complaints in recent months.
The overall sentiment was summed up in a post on the game’s subreddit titled “I feel encouraged after todays update from Gameloft.”

As the user explained, “I was a bit worried about the current state of the game lately … after getting this info, I do feel like a lot of common issues are being acknowledged by Gameloft and I’m excited for the showcase in the fall.”
In recent months, Disney Dreamlight Valley players have vocalized their concerns and frustrations with the game, particularly glitchy events and repetitive gameplay. While there have been some steps in the right direction, such as the June 2024 update making some improvements to decorating systems, the newly announced changes and the developer’s transparency when it comes to listening to and implementing feedback are promising.
The fact that the October update will be “smaller in scope” and have “a focus on fixes and quality of life improvements” ahead of a more substantial update later in the year also has fans hopeful that Gameloft is taking the time to fix and refine what’s already there.
The new roadmap and promised updates even have some players returning to the game, with one Twitter/X user saying, “I haven’t picked my game up for over a month now. This makes me want to play again and I’m excited for the upcoming updates.”
Players will have to wait until later this month and beyond to see if the developers can fulfill their promises, but Gameloft’s current tone gives Disney Dreamlight Valley players some good reasons to be optimistic about the game’s future.
