Disney Dreamlight Valley’s first paid expansion is getting new content soon. Here’s everything we know about the first paid expansion, A Rift in Time.
Along with announcing that Disney Dreamlight Valley would no longer be becoming a free-to-play game, Gameloft also revealed the first paid expansion for the popular cozy game. This marks a brand new era for DDV and has already brought with it some exciting new content.
So, with this being the first expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, many will be wondering what it comes with and, of course, when all of it releases.
Disney Dreamlight Valley A Rift in Time release date
The paid Disney Dreamlight Valley A Rift in Time expansion was released on December 5, 2023. This is only the beginning, though. The expansion is actually comprised of three parts.
Act 2 of the expansion, titled The Spark of Imagination, was released on May 1, 2024.
Act 3, Treasures of Time, will be released on August 21, 2024 alongside the free update that brings Tiana to the Valley.
What’s in the A Rift in Time expansion
The following features and characters joined the game in the first part of the A Rift in Time expansion:
- Eternity Isle
- Ancient’s Landing, Glittering Dunes, and Wild Tangle biomes
- New characters: Gaston, Eve, Rapunzel
- New critters, recipes, ingredients
- New clothing & furniture
- Ancient Machines
- Scramblecoin

On August 13, 2024, Gameloft released a trailer for the third and final Act of the expansion.
In addition to teasing the story, which involves going into the Palace to confront Jafar, the trailer confirms a new Steamboat Willie-inspired look for Mickey Mouse – though he doesn’t seem too happy about the transformation.
Jafar will also become a Villager once Treasures of Time releases, allowing players to add the Aladdin villain to their Valleys.
A Rift in Time cost
The Disney Dreamlight Valley A Rift in Time expansion will cost players $29.99 to purchase and will require the base game in order to play.
On top of this, it also comes with 5,000 Moonstones so you get a few extra rewards with the new content.
