Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred delays explained

Roughly two hours before the Vessel of Hatred expansion was set to launch, Diablo 4 Global Director of Community Adam Fletcher took to X to announce a delay. In responses to players seeking clarity, he estimated “a couple of hours at most”.

General Manager Rod Fergusson spoke up later in the day to shed further insight while advising fans it’s going to be a bit longer yet.

“Due to an unfortunate technical issue, it could be upwards of two hours till we launch Vessel of Hatred,” he explained.

Fergusson circled back and revealed the “new update is nearly finished uploading to our servers. We will give the green light once it’s finished and available for Bnet users.

“We are almost there!”

Finally, after five and a half hours from the expansion’s intended launch time, Adam Fletcher returned to X to announce that the delay had been resolved and the expansion was live.

Both the Vessel of Hatred and the Season of Hatred Rising arrived at the same time. Although the expansion is only available for those who buy it, every player can access Season 6’s content when it goes live.

With console pre-loading not live yet, it’s unclear exactly how big it’ll be, but it should be in that ballpark.

First thing you should do

Once the Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 goes live, the first thing you should do is make sure you’ve completed the campaign. But, you technically don’t have to, you just have to complete the main campaign’s prologue. We would recommend getting a mount before visiting Nahantu, though.

After that, look for the Vessel of Hatred’s campaign in your quest log which is where you should be able to begin your journey to the new region.
