Diablo 4’s Uber Uniques are hyper-rare items that massively boost your power. That rarity has become a bit of a problem for some, particularly when the alternative crafting method is more painful than farming a rare drop.
Diablo 4 is smack bang in the middle of its latest major content update, the Season of the Construct. Reception to the latest Season has been a mixed bag with many players criticizing the new mechanics.
Indeed, Blizzard seems to be in hot water rather frequently where Diablo 4 is concerned. Recent dramas about the game’s microtransactions have seen them getting flak for overpriced recolors and a mount bundle that costs as much as the full game.
Of course, Diablo 4 players are primarily concerned with the base content of the game and despite some improvements, Uber Uniques are still a hot-button issue. Reddit user u/Pretend_Passenger_27 voiced their concerns with the crafting requirements for Uber Unique gear and their sentiments were widely shared by the game’s community.
The addition of a crafting mechanic for Uber Unique gear was intended to alleviate some of the frustration with hunting specific items. Unfortunately, in order to craft a single piece of Uber Unique gear, you need to salvage five unwanted Uber Unique items.
“The problem is, I can’t even get one Uber Unique to drop. Let alone five,” one player said in response to u/Pretend_Passenger_27’s complaint. Diablo 4 fans had recently complained that acquiring rare gear in Diablo 4 is like a “full-time job”.

Presently, the most consistent way to acquire Uber Uniques is by farming Duriel but that is an exercise in patience itself. The prerequisite for facing him requires hours of play and the drop rate for this sought-after gear is only 2%.
“Five is too many. I’ll bet they patch it down to three pretty quickly,” said one hopeful player. u/Pretend_Passenger_27’s own solution was to have regular Unique items drop salvage material for crafting Uber Uniques which many agreed with.
The prevailing sentiment is that this crafting feature is a symptom of a larger problem with itemization that players have had with Diablo 4 since its launch.
Fortunately, Blizzard has said that they plan to address the game’s itemization in Diablo 4 Season 4.
