Guardians have been unable to unlock or gild Destiny 2’s Conqueror title since The Final Shape’s launch, baffled over the lack of diversity in Grandmaster Strike rotations.
Conqueror requires completion of several Strikes on their hardest difficulty in a single season before claiming the accolade. As of the weekly reset on August 21, only six Strikes have appeared in the rotation, with three yet to be included.
In previous seasons, players were able to tick every objective by week seven of a season, though likely due to the extended duration of Episodes, this is no longer the case.
Compounding the issue further is the lack of diversity in available Grandmasters. Liminality and Exodus Crash have come and gone twice each within a month. Consequently, Bungie has been accused of time-gating Conqueror for no other reason than to prolong engagement.
“This is the dumbest GM rotation ever,” vented one player on Reddit, adding, “Bungie just cannot stop f**king up.” Echoing the frustrations, another lamented, “So we only have two GMs now. This game has never been deader.”

“Not only is it stupid, it’s carefully engineered so you get gilded Conqueror for as little time as possible,” another suggested.
Bungie has been known to manually change the weekly Grandmaster Strike as a direct result of feedback from the community, but no such action has been taken this time around.
To say nothing of Conqueror being unobtainable, several Adept weapons exclusive to GM versions of Strikes also haven’t been farmable as a result of the repetitive rotation. If players are to hear anything about plans to address the issue, they’ll likely be delivered via Bungie’s TWID post.
Destiny 2’s next major update, Episode: Echoes Act 3, arrives on August 27 and will include, among the usual seasonal content, an Exotic Mission.
