Dr DisRespect offered to help shroud’s IEM Katowice team and even the CS:GO devs have responded

Twitch streamer Dr DisRespect has made an enticing offer to Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek’s Old Guys Club team – should they qualify for the Americas Minor in January.

Shroud has partnered up with former teammates Sean ‘SeanG@res’ Gares, Jordan ‘n0thing’ Gilbert, Sam ‘Silent’ Portillo and Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham to form the Old Guys Club, a moniker that the former pros use when competing in CS:GO tournaments.

The squad have already qualified for the Mountain Dew League playoffs, and on Tuesday, November 27, advanced through a 99-team single-elimination bracket to qualify for the 16-team closed qualifier, with the top six from that event heading to the Americas Minor in Katowice, Poland.

The team are hoping to make it to the Americas Minor and then qualify for the IEM Katowice Major, and The Doc may be there with them if they can achieve their goals.

“I want to stop you guys for a second,” said shroud on stream, interrupting his teammates as they attempted to talk strategy. “If we go to Poland, Doc offered to be our coach. Who’s down?”

“I don’t really know what the maps or the x or the y or the z,” joked n0thing, pretending to be The Doc. “But I want high speed, full momentum out of the gates!”

Gares seemed to be taken by the idea, saying: “That would be so sick dude. He could do his dance coming out of the smoke during the introductions, he could literally take over the host”

It’s not just the Old Guys Club who seem to like the idea of The Doc coaching the squad, with the official Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Twitter account posting that “the real challenge will be getting a pod that’s 6’8” tall,” referencing the two-time Blockbuster video gaming champion’s large frame.

Old Guys Club is just one step away from making the trip to Poland for the Americas Minor, however they will face some tough competition in the closed qualifiers, with pro teams like Rogue and NRG all vying for a spot in the January 22 tournament.
