Pokémon cosplayer’s take on Sword & Shield’s Rose is incredibly accurate

Pokémon Sword and Shield is finally out, arriving on November 15 to much critical and fan praise. To celebrate, a talented cosplayer brought Galar Region’s Chairman Rose to life with their incredibly accurate costume.

The latest Pokémon title Sword and Shield is the 8th generation for the long-running beloved RPG, and takes place in the Galar region, which was largely influenced by the United Kingdom.

In the game’s story, the world revolves around the Pokémon League which is televised and ran by Chairman Rose, who serves an important figure throughout the player’s journey to become the next champion.

An incredibly talented cosplayer showed off their take on the character, and it’s is so incredibly accurate, it’s as though he jumped from out of the Switch itself and into real life.

Chairman Rose brought to life

In the beginning of the game, the player is quickly introduced to the Chairman who heads up the league the protagonist is entering to become the region’s stronger trainer, and unseat the undefeated champion Leon.

Cosplayer ‘moknowsdesign’ shared his costume on Instagram, and blew away many fans who thought he looked almost identical to the Pokémon character with his accurate portrayal.

The artist perfectly recreated his slick gray and white vest suit, from his watch to his red and black loafers, nailing even the intricate details like the gold tie pin, and badge on his lapel.

Not only does the cosplayer get the Chairman’s outfit completely right, his hair naturally mirrors the character, as well as his facial hair and his eyes. The side-by-side shot he posted is uncanny, and has many seeing double.

Taking things further, moknowsdesign teamed up with a fellow cosplayer who was dressed up the character’s loyal assistant Oleana, making the whole thing feel complete.

As a final touch, the artist also carried around a Master Ball, which is the incredibly rare iteration of the Pokéball that players only get once after beating the game that guarantees them a 100% catch rate.

As players discover the new Galar region and navigate their way through the Pokémon league, they have many run-ins with the Chairman, making him another iconic character in the series.

The latest iteration of Pokémon has been a smash success so far, as the game sold over six million units worldwide just in its launch weekend, making it the fastest selling Switch game to date.
