A Bleach fan has shown off their incredible take on the anime’s character Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, a top-ranked and powerful Arrancar who fights against the Gotei 13 during Aizen’s War.
The anime follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a young man who obtains Soul Reaping powers from a Shinigami, protecting civilians from ghosts and evil spirits who are attempting to hurt and kill them, while guiding those who have passed away safely into the afterlife.
During Bleach, the Gotei 13, a Soul Society which most reapers join when they first become Shinigami end up battling with another group of powerful former of Hollow-Shinigami hybrids, introducing a character that quickly became a fan-favorite in the form of Odelschwanck, more commonly referred to as Nel Tu.
Nel has two different forms, her child version and adult version which she switches in and out of throughout the anime, and despite being a powerful warrior with incredible skills in combat, the character is defined by her dislike of actual fighting. She refuses to finish off weak or injured enemies despite the situation, stopping once they’ve been incapacitated, something which fans of the anime quickly came to admire.
While her pacifism is a major part of her personality, her outfit certainly doesn’t make that clear, wearing a large white skull on top of her head, which cosplayer ‘purplesakura’ matched perfectly, complete with the horns that come down which sit out at either side. Her turquoise hair falls down across her shoulders too, with a near-match of the bright hair color that the character has in the show.

Purplesakura even matched the same red line that Nel wears across her face, going from one cheek to the other across the bridge of her nose, and wears the same torn dress that the character is often seen in, with a single strand connecting the top and bottom which have been destroyed after tough battles.
Bleach has a special place in the hearts of anime fans, but its final episode aired in 2012 at the end of the Thousand Year Blood War Arc, which was where the manga it was based on ended.
Fans continue to hope that it will return in the future, and while nothing has been confirmed, Bleach will be attending Anime Japan 2020 to celebrate the manga’s 20th anniversary, prompting many to believe that information about a new season will be announced there.
