Bayonetta cosplayer’s incredible gun heels will leave you spellbound

PlatinumGames

Bayonetta is easily one of the most popular female video game characters to come out of the PS3 and Xbox 360 era with her dynamic look that can be a difficult task to pull off for aspiring cosplayers. However, Jess K Cosplay was up for the challenge and then some.

Posting to Reddit under the account name supernes64, the user showed off her incredible Bayonetta getup equipped with the long hair, signature glasses, back exposure and earrings that made up the witch’s look from the game.

Of course, one of the more difficult parts to get right are Bayonetta’s iconic gun heels strapped to her feet – not just for appearance reasons, but practicality too. No one wants to go to a convention and be falling down the entire time.

As part of her costume, Jess K Cosplay went all out and included the famous weapons, but gave her outfit’s main heels a bit of space from the firearms. Overall, the whole thing was top notch and she nailed the legendary PlatinumGames protagonist.

In the comments on the thread, Jess revealed that she had a lot of practice walking in the heels prior to PAX Australia. How much practice? Months.

“I didn’t even have a single fall, but I actually practiced walking in them for a few months before the convention!” she wrote.

However, there was definitely a physical cost to such daunting attire. “My feet were killing me,” the model explained. “I did two 7-hour days in them!”

Anyone wanting to see the incredible cosplay in action may get their wish as she said she might be bringing the outfit out for another spin in 2020.

It would be fun to see if Jess could remodel the design slightly to match the witch’s new look as seen in Bayonetta 2.

A third game in the series was announced at The Game Awards in 2017 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Outside of her main game, the character also made her way to Super Smash Bros for the Wii U as a DLC character and then on Ultimate for the Switch as part of the game’s main roster.
