Avatar: The Last Airbender cosplayer goes viral with fiery Azula TikTok

A talented Avatar: The Last Airbender cosplayer shared her insanely accurate take on Azula. The artist then wowed fans with her perfect re-creation of the sinister Fire Nation princess with a TikTok that went viral.

The Last Airbender is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month, as the groundbreaking animation made its debut in February 2005 on Nickelodeon. The show’s story about a monk who can bend the elements of air, earth, water, and fire connected with millions.

However, a cosplayer had fans going wild when she shared an incredible TikTok of her portraying Azula. The insanely mind-bending video with have you seeing double.

The popular villain was one of the standout characters in the 2005 animation.

Cosplayer becomes Azula

Throughout the series, Azula is relentless in her pursuit of hunting down the Avatar. The Fire Nation princess is a formidable foe with her fire-bending skill that is so hot, it burns blue.

Cosplayer Elise Forrest shared her Avatar costume and looks just like the villain. The artist nailed the character’s hairstyle which is pulled up into a bun and parted in the front with two long strands of hair that run down her face.

She even got the little details like the red and gold Fire Nation royal crest piece that sits at the top of her head.  Elise also captured the sinister character’s fierce attitude with her pose.

The cosplay artist shared another shot which shows her faithful depiction of the Avatar villain’s looks. From her arched eyebrows to her red lipstick, she looks as if the princess has jumped from out of the screen and into real life.

As if that wasn’t enough, Elise posted a video of her cosplay to TikTok, where she lip synced dialogue from Azula herself. Having the iconic monologue re-created and paired with her insane outfit truly brings the character to life.

The clip went viral and wowed fans such as user ‘nakanaichi1’ who said “You’re not even a cosplayer – you’re just Azula.” ‘itmecc’ agreed, and exclaimed “The minute I saw this, my brain didn’t see cosplay, it just went “it’s Azula.”

Avatar fans gushed over how much the cosplayer looked like Azula.

Despite The Last Airbender ending in 2005, the popular animation has gone on to become a cultural phenomena. From graphic novels to the spin-off series The Legend of Korra, the legacy of Avatar has continued to grow.

To celebrate its anniversary, Nickelodeon has re-released the entire series on Blu Ray in a collector’s edition set. Fans can also look forward to Netflix’s reboot of the series as they’re making a live-action version of the beloved show.
