Who is the CDL’s most underrated player? Scump, FormaL and more decide

The Call of Duty League has finally begun, and while much of the focus has been on superstars like Seth ‘Scump‘ Abner and Matthew ‘FormaL‘ Piper, there has also been plenty of players who have slipped under the radar.

With the Call of Duty scene moving to a franchised format, and well-known esports orgs like 100 Thieves and eUnited giving way to new, city-based outfits, the offseason roster shuffle was one of the biggest fans had ever seen.

Plenty of rising stars landed on franchises outside of the table-topping limelight of squads like Chicago and Dallas, and may not have got the kudos they deserve despite ripping up Modern Warfare in its early days in the pro scene.

While some pros picked obvious names out of the hat—Scump put forward Simp, despite the FaZe star holding the title of reigning CWL MVP, and FormaL suggested Chicago teammate Envoy—others looked off the beaten road for their answers.

According to Minnesota’s Justin ‘SiLLY’ Fargo, Preston ‘Prestinni’ Sanderson is still underrated “despite winning Champs,” adding “if he goes off, Florida will always win.” It was a sentiment Prestinni agreed with, as he named himself.

The Mutineers star wasn’t the only player to point the finger at himself either, with Toronto’s Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni saying his own name because “people don’t remember [he] was an SMG player before World War II,” and dubbing him “slow.”

Paris’ Luke ‘Louqa’ Rigas and Conrad ‘Shockz’ Rymarek also made the list, with squadmate Matthew ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley suggesting the Australian duo were “bound for big things,” while London’s Dylan ‘Dylan’ Henderson rounded out the list.

There were also some that believed there are “no underrated players in the CDL,” including Ravens pair Jordan ‘Jurd’ Crowley and Bradley ‘wuskin’ Marshall, while New York SMG star Dillon ‘Attach’ Price said there were too many to pick just one.
