“lag” and “desync” problems are plaguing Caldera

Hit registration is a term for shooting games that refers to bullets hitting their target and correctly registering damage. At the start of Caldera, players claimed that poor hit registration caused bullets to not register damage properly.

They stated, “this season’s servers feel like they have gotten significantly worse with lag and desync.”

Other users concurred, with one user adding, “[y]ou would think a company that makes millions of dollars every day could afford to upgrade their servers. It is so frustrating to have such inconsistent performance.”

The Call of Duty Ricochet anti-cheat system has a feature that makes cheaters unable to do damage if they are suspicious of cheating. That feature can complicate some clips that show possible hit registration problems.

We will provide an update on any changes made to the hit registration issue.
