Summit1g explains why he hates playing Warzone solo

Call of Duty / Twitch: Summit1g

When Infinity Ward added a solo mode to Warzone only a week after it was released, there was rejoice from many players, who were desperate to drop in rogue rather than having to buddy up with two others. But, top streamer Summit1g thinks that after all the hype, solo mode just isn’t as fun to play.

Summit, a former semi-pro Counter-Strike player and one of the biggest streamers in the world, attracts tens of thousands of fans to his daily broadcasts on Twitch, and Warzone has been his game of choice since its launch.

However, unlike many other streamers, he hasn’t been swept head over heels by Call of Duty’s second battle royale offering, instead being more cautious in his hype levels, questioning if it would be able to hold his attention for long.

His opinion later took a 180 though, as the game slowly grew on him.

He still wanted some updates though, mainly to iron out some of the annoying gameplay complaints that are shared by many. But it looks like adding a solo mode was not the change Summit needed.

When trying to pick what to play next on his March 18 stream, a viewer suggested he try out solo Warzone, but summit1g simply wasn’t in the mood, explaining why for him, it just “kinda sucks.”

“I don’t really like solo Warzone, well I haven’t given it a crazy chance, but, it kinda sucks to be honest,” he said. “Just dying, it kind of feels like another BR, where you just die, it’s over, people are very campy, very sweaty. You know, solos in every BR are pretty much the most unenjoyable experience on earth.”

He concluded by explaining that if he was calling the shots at Infinity Ward, he would have chosen to add duos instead of solos, but hopes that the developers will add that option soon.

Thankfully for Summit, he was able to find some fellow streamers to squad up with so he could avoid the plight of having to play solo in Warzone.

Presumably, IW do have plans to add more options in the future, and solo may not even be a permanent addition. In Apex Legends, for example, they have rotated solo and duos modes, giving players options at different times. There have also been calls to add a four-person squad mode, and the developers even teased the possibility of five-player teams too.
