Mixer star Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek reacted to Modern Warfare’s 1.07 patch notes during his November 8 stream, and was left shocked at the AK-47’s “insane” improvements.
Call of Duty’s latest iteration Modern Warfare released on October 25, and has been a huge success in sales and views on streaming services. The popular first-person shooter pushed out patch 1.07 on November 8 which came with various changes to the game’s meta.
However, former CSGO pro shroud was left amazed about one particular change that he argues will greatly benefit the AK-47, and has him wondering if it will be “the” gun players will be using going forward.
Shroud stunned by “insane” AK-47 potential post-patch
The Mixer star decided to read the latest patch notes for the first time with his audience on November 8, and gave his take on all the changes coming to the FPS. However, it was the tweaks made to assault rifles that caught the streaming personality’s attention.
“Assault rifles increased hip spread to reduce effectiveness up close,” he read out loud. “Damn! So that makes the AK insane! Dude, the AK is THE f*cking gun now! Are you kidding me!?”
Shroud then shared his doubts about the changes made to SMGs which included increased movement and ADS speeds, as well as a small reduction in sprint out times for the weapon class.

“Okay… SMGs were already insane. I don’t know if this is exactly the call. I don’t know if this is the call right here, because SMGs are already broken. But hey, that’s fine,” he explained, before he praised the changes made to the Uzi. “They buffed the Uzi. That’s good, the Uzi sucks!”
The human aimbot continued to take in the patch notes and discussed it with his streaming partner, before circling back to the changes made to Assault rifles, which also included “less damage at long range for full auto 5.56 rifles.”
Contemplating what gun could end up becoming a better choice for players given the patch, he said, “They nerfed 5.56 rounds, the M4 might suck now, the M13 might be the play. Maybe.”
Only time will tell if shroud’s predictions on Modern Warfare’s meta will come true, however the Mixer star is one of the best FPS players in the world, so his opinions hold weight.
The former Twitch streamer turned the streaming world on its head when he announced he was leaving for Mixer on October 24, and has already amassed over 740k followers on the Microsoft platform as of the time of this article.
