Best RPK Warzone loadout: Class setup, attachments, perks, more

The RPK is back, with the legacy LMG getting a new lease of life in Warzone thanks to the extremely powerful JAK Cataclysm conversion kit.

Added in Season 5, the JAK Cataclysm is an Aftermarket Part that converts the RPK into a .50 caliber sniper rifle. While it can’t down enemies in one shot, its two-shot kill produces an unbelievable TTK of just 455 ms, outclassing every other long-range weapon.

This AMP’s phenomenal performance isn’t just a result of its freakish damage. For some reason, it has also been given the flinch properties of a regular LMG rather than a sniper rifle. As a result, it doesn’t matter if you shoot second; the JAK Cataclysm hardly flinches regardless.

Its unique characteristics and incredible time to kill have quickly seen the RPK take over Warzone’s meta, and it only becomes even more dominant when you use the best loadout possible.

First and foremost, the JAK Cataclysm conversion kit is the reason why the RPK is even worth using in the current meta. While the gun is underwhelming as an LMG, it makes for an incredible DMR when equipped with this Aftermarket Part, which can down enemies in just two shots.

However, this AMP does come with a hefty downside: it greatly lowers the RPK’s handling. Therefore, using the SL Razorhawk Laser Light is a must, as it provides the biggest boost to ADS Speed of any available attachment.

Likewise, both the Broadside FCT and SL Skeletal Vertical Grip further hasten handling, boosting ADS Speed by a combined 8%. While this may not seem like the biggest change in the world, it does make this heavy-duty sniper feel much more responsive.

Finally, the Sonic Suppressor L is one of the few attachments that can be used with the JAK Cataclysm that boosts range. With this equipped, the RPK remains extremely competitive well beyond 60 meters, making it a devastating option in Resurgence.

As with most Warzone loadouts, Double Time is a great option to use with the RPK, as it increases Tac Sprint duration, making it easier to get around the map quickly. This is especially important on Resurgence, where the fast-paced gameplay will often leave you behind without this perk.

Since the JAK Cataclysm is a sniper, Focus also works great, reducing flinch and extending the duration that you can hold your breath when scoped in. Equally, Cold-Blooded is a must with any sniper, as it counters High Alert, letting you line up that perfect shot without having to worry about enemies dodging in anticipation.

Just because other players can’t benefit from High Alert doesn’t mean you can’t. Even though Cold-Blooded does counter this perk, it’s still a great choice, more often than not saving your life by highlighting enemy whereabouts when they aim at you. Without this, you’ll be a sitting duck practically begging to be sniped by someone you didn’t see.

For equipment, a Throwing Knife is great for finishing off downed targets in tense situations where you need to rush in with your secondary. We’ve opted to use the Superi 46, but any meta sniper support weapon will suffice. Finally, a Smoke Grenade can be thrown to cover up an otherwise exposed area, creating a window to escape or resurrect downed teammates.

The JAK Cataclysm conversion kit is unlocked by completing any five weekly challenges from Season 5, Week 2. These can be completed across multiplayer, Warzone, or Zombies, with all three modes counting towards the progress required.

With the JAK Cataclysm kit equipped, the RPK’s closest competitor is the KV Inhibitor, another semi-auto sniper that can down enemy players in two shots. The KV Inhibitor offers superior range but a slower fire rate and has considerably more flinch.
