Call of Duty veteran Chris ‘Parasite’ Duarte has revealed an interesting story from his time on CompLexity in the 2018 season, recalling that he helped current OpTic player Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell in a tough contract situation.
Dashy joined Enigma6 alongside Embry ‘Bevils’ Bevil, Jacob ‘Decemate’ Cato and Jordon ‘General’ General, at the start of the CoD: WWII season, but after a poor first event the team didn’t last long.
Both Bevils and Decemate left, but Dashy was reportedly held to his contract by E6, who were keen to keep his talents, but after another disappointing top 16 placing at CWL New Orleans, Dashy finally got his move.
He was recruited by CompLexity, who at the time was Parasite, Tyler ‘FeLo’ Johnson and Jeremy ‘StuDyy’ Astacio, with Dashy rounding out the four man roster.
Presumably CompLexity had simply decided to buy out Dashy’s contract with Enigma6, and E6 agreed to the deal, but it turns out Parasite had a direct involvement in the negotiations.
During a live stream on December 12, following Dashy’s win at CWL Vegas, Parasite asked the now OpTic Gaming star “remember when I gave [compLexity] my first salary check to buy you out of E6? […] I blessed this man, otherwise he was trapped.”

Parasite later confirmed that it was his whole paycheck for the month, amounting to $4,000 – proving his belief in the young rising star.
Dashy also confirmed Parasite’s version of events too, saying “That’s why Chris is my guy.”
Of course, it’s impossible to know exactly how negotiations went down, and how Parasite convinced CompLexity to acquire Dashy from Enigma6, but since then Dashy’s career has sky rocketed.
Recruited by OpTic for the Black Ops 4 season, the Canadian’s dominant performance at the first event of the season not only helped his team take 1st place, but also land him the MVP trophy.
