Mindfreak set to replace BuZZO ahead of the CWL Pro League qualifier

Mindfreak became one of the first professional Call of Duty teams to announce a major roster change ahead of the CWL Pro League qualifier, starting in January 2019.

On December 20, the organization announced that they had picked up a new player, and it’s expected veteran player Mitchell ‘BuZZO’ Mader will move out of the starting five, after over four years leading the team.

In his place steps in former Tainted Minds player Daniel ‘Swifty’ Hickey, leaving Tainted Minds in need of a new player for their own Pro League qualification attempt in January.

BuZZO is not expected to leave the team entirely, however, as he is expected to take on a coaching role, remaining with the Mindfreak organization.

Dexerto understands that BuZZO was not dropped from the roster, but rather offered to move to a coaching position to allow the addition of a new player.

With just under a month to prepare, the new lineup with Swifty will need to practice hard and take the advice of their experienced coach if they are to snag one of 12 qualification spots.

Mindfreak was already considered the best APAC team, and recruiting from their main rival Tainted Minds, should in theory only bolster their chances of competing with the top teams from NA and EU.

Tainted Minds are expected to recruit another APAC player, however whether they can replace Swifty with a player of similar caliber remains to be seen.
