TeePee & Vivid’s team win $250,000 Modern Warfare streamer invitational

Former professional player Tyler ‘TeePee’ Polchow and Noah ‘Vivid’ Wright (of Fortnite fame) have taken first place in the $250,000 streamer invitational hosted by Activision for Modern Warfare.

Even since it’s release on October 25, Modern Warfare has held a steady place near the top of the Twitch popularity charts. Streamers have flocked to play the new Call of Duty release, while professional players have been hard at work trying to hone their skills ahead of the new franchise league.

While there have been plenty of pick-up games, professional scrimmages, and even a few 2v2 Gunfight tournaments, the streeamer invitational was the first big prize money event – despite some blowback from CoD pros over those who have been selected.

Activision.The Streamer Invitational will be one of the first big events in Modern Warfare.

What is the streamer Invitational?

20 top streamers were split into teams of four, battling it out for their share of the massive prize pool in a variety of modes, showing off Modern Warfare in a competitive light.

While the majority of the competitors were not inherent to the Call of Duty scene, some top players and content creators like TeePee, Hitch and Hutch were in attendance. Fortnite pros Aydan and Vivid also took part, as well as a handful of streamers best known for a variety of other games.

Plenty of popular streamers like Seagull, TeePee and Mason ‘Symfunhy’ Lanier, all streamed the action on their own personal channels, in addition to the official broadcast on the Call of Duty stream.

Streamer Invitational Final Placements

After almost four hours of intense play, former World Champion TeePee helped guide his team to victory, netting the first place prize of $100,000. They took down Syhmfuny’s squad in the grand final, who were a surprise package throughout.

Hitch and Aydan’s teams battled it out in a third-place playoff match soon after, with the experience of Seagull helping guide them to victory in that match.
