The BAL-27 assault rifle is one of two Advanced Warfare weapons that came to MW3 when Season 3 arrived. Now that the season is over, here’s how you can unlock the classic gun and start tearing through your opponents — just this time, your feet will be firmly on the ground.
Those who played Advanced Warfare will no doubt be familiar with this assault rifle, especially the iconic Obsidian Steed Elite variant of it. It returned to Call of Duty via Season 3 of MW3 and Warzone, free for players to unlock.
However, now that Season 3 is behind us and that season’s Battle Pass gone forever, the process of unlocking it is even easier than before.
You simply need to activate the Armory Unlock and complete five Daily Challenges. These challenges can be completed across all of MW3’s game modes, so mixing and matching challenges may be the better route if you don’t want to strictly play one mode over the other.

Once these are all completed, the BAL-27 will be yours for use across all of MW3’s modes and Warzone. The BAL-27 has 19 levels to progress through in the Gunsmith.
