The first Call of Duty Modern Warfare campaign trailer has debuted and it gives players a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming title.

The hype train first started rolling once players discovered the campaign trailer was being shown in the main menu of Black Ops 4, but those who didn’t own the game were left in the dark.

Luckily, Sony’s State of Play broadcast led off with the trailer so everyone was able to get a look at what was to come.

The trailer ran a little over two minutes and led off with the fan-favorite character Captain Price, who has been a staple of the Modern Warfare series, and gave us a virtual tour of the various locations we’ll be visiting – everywhere from London and the Middle East to other global locations.

The story follows a group of soldiers led by Price who are fighting to retrieve stolen chemical weapons and from the looks of things, it’ll be jam-packed with action set pieces that will obviously feel right at home in a Call of Duty title.

No actual gameplay was shown from the trailer but just by watching it you can easily see it’s the best looking Call of Duty title to date, which was practically a given considering what the new engine is capable of.

Having a campaign back in Call of Duty will be a welcome addition after Black Ops 4 made the controversial decision to cut one entirely.

Activision says this campaign will be pushing boundaries and breaking rules, so if that sounds good to you then you’ll be very excited about the new direction.

All of these questions will be answered once Modern Warfare releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.
