There have been a lot of reactions pouring in about 100 Thieves’ victory at the CWL London pro Call of Duty tournament, but Drake’s may have been the most special for the players and organization so far.
The global music icon, who is one of the investors that’s poured a lot of funding into 100T, took to his Instagram story just hours after the tournament concluded to post a congratulatory message to the team.

“Congrats to the guys. 100 Thieves CWL London champs,” he wrote over an image of the players hoisting their first ever major trophy as a squad.
Considering that Drake’s Instagram currently has over 56.8 million followers, this is obviously a huge PR break for 100 Thieves.

Assuming that a large majority of Drake’s followers don’t really know much about CoD esports, it’s likely that at least some will start paying more attention to 100T after the post on his story.
Drake and 100 Thieves
As mentioned earlier, Drake has a reason to be interested in 100 Thieves and their progress in esports, as he and SB Projects founder Scooter Braun were two of the heavy-hitters to contribute to 100T’s Series A funding round back in October 2018.
The announcement sent major shockwaves around the world of esports at the time, especially due to 100T’s rise in popularity as an esports org and, of course, Drake’s status as one of the biggest music artists in the world.
100 Thieves win CWL London
100 Thieves’ victory at CWL London marked their first ever major tournament win as an esports organization.
Surprisingly, their tournament journey wasn’t all too difficult or rocky, despite the fact that they finished second in Pool A after having lost to OpTic Gaming.
The exacted their revenge in the Winners Bracket finals, beating OpTic 3-1 to move on to meet Losers Bracket winners eUnited in the Grand Final.
100 Thieves wrapped up their convincing tournament run with a 3-1 win against eU, further sealing themselves as arguably the best team currently in the CWL.
