CoD: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight alpha first impressions – Dr Disrespect, Clayster, Karma, more

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Open Alpha is officially live on Playstation 4, and community members from Dr Disrespect to pro players like James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks and Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow have been sharing their first impressions.

Call of Duty fans have been eagerly anticipating their first opportunity to get their hands on Modern Warfare, so unsurprisingly there was huge buzz among the community when Infinity Ward revealed that the 2v2 Alpha would launch on August 23.

The servers went live one day earlier though, meaning pros and streamers alike were able to hop into games and test their skills – and the game as well.

Clayster, who became a CoD world champion for the second time on August 18, shared his impressive 48-1 record in the 2v2 Gunfight mode, before giving his overall thoughts on the game.

“Enjoyed it,” wrote the eUnited member on Twitter. “Definitely excited to get to work on the new game!”

Elsewhere, Dr Disrespect was showing off his skills with an amazing clutch, picking off one enemy with a sniper before turning his attention to his last remaining opponent.

The leader of the Champions Club jumped off a platform, performed a 360 degree spin, whipped out his pistol and cracked his foe with it, screaming: “I three-sixty-ed them!” as he celebrated his round victory in typical Doc fashion.

OpTic Gaming’s Thomas ‘TJHaLy’ Haly also appeared to be impressed with the new title, responding to Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat’s query about how much people were liking the game by simply stating: “We’re back.”

FaZe Clan star Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto revealed that he is heading off for a much needed break following the conclusion of the Black Ops 4 season, but did make some time to play Gunfight before he left.

The American wrote: “The 2v2 mode is a lot of fun, hope you guys enjoy playing the game as much as I did!”

Karma, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest CoD players of all time, decided not to give his opinion on the game, but rather share which weapon he thought was the one to use.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t a sniper or an assault rifle, but rather, he believes that the “Desert Eagle with the scope might be the best thing” to use if you’re searching for wins.

While pro players and streamers have already started trying out the game, the good news is that there is still time to download it and hop into the action if you haven’t.

The alpha runs until Monday, August 26, but remember, you’ll need to own a PlayStation 4 if you want to try it out.
