The LR 7.62 is a heavy-duty sniper rifle in Black Ops 6 that deals more damage than any other weapon, and using the best loadout with it is a must to capitalize on its strengths.
While the SVD is the best sniper rifle in this year’s Call of Duty, the LR 7.62 isn’t a bad option either. It hits extremely hard and is very forgiving, with its damage being unmatched by any other gun in the game.
However, it does have some key issues that can ruin its performance if you don’t use the right build. To avoid that, here’s the best LR 7.62 loadout in BO6 to dominate with this powerful sniper.

The biggest problem with the LR 7.62 is its sluggish handling, and more specifically, it’s terrible ADS speed. Thankfully, using the Quickdraw Grip improves this tremendously, providing a 13% improvement. You can make the sniper even better suited to Black Ops 6’s fast-paced gameplay by using the Fast Mag I too, which reduces reload time.
It’s best to use the Target Laser, with this attachment removing the randomness of your reticle’s placement whenever you aim in. This will help you be much more consistent when trying to quickscope and play more aggressively in situations where doing so is necessary.
The Rapid Fire mod is very useful too, improving both rechamber speed and fire rate. Given that a slow rate of fire is one of this gun’s biggest flaws, the 39% boost this attachment provides is genuinely game-changing. Without this, the LR 7.62 is practically impossible to use in multiplayer, but it feels completely different with it equipped.
You can tweak the last attachment slot to best suit your playstyle, but we recommended using a Suppressor. It has no downsides and suppresses outgoing fire, stopping you from appearing on the enemy radar. This extra layer of stealth makes a big difference when you are trying to pull off potentially game-winning plays and can’t risk being noticed.

With Perk Greed equipped, you can use four different perks. The first three should be blue perks, as these need to match to activate Recon, a powerful Combat Specialty that lets you see enemies through walls after spawning. For this, Ghost is the best blue perk in the game, making you undetectable by enemy UAVs and Scout Pulses.
For the other two slots, use Engineer and Vigilance. The Engineer perk reveals enemy equipment through walls, while Vigilance shows you when you appear on the other team’s minimap, letting you better judge if it’s best to play safe or more aggressively in a given moment.

The fourth perk can be anything, as it does not affect combat specialties. There are several good options, but Bankroll stands out as the best, granting you 150 score at the start of each life. This makes earning powerful streaks easier, giving you the power to flip unfavorable games in your favor.
A Frag is a classic lethal that can be cooked to explode at just the right moment, and the Prox Alarm is perfect for shutting down flankers, as it alerts you when other players are nearby. For your Field Upgrade, the Acoustic Amp makes enemy footsteps louder, making it harder for opponents to catch you off guard.

Where is the LR 7.62 in the BO6 meta?
The LR 7.62 is a decent weapon that ranks somewhere in the middle of Black Ops 6’s meta. While it is arguably the worst sniper rifle in the game, all of the snipers are relatively strong thanks to their ability to kill in one shot.
What makes the LR 7.62 special is that its one-shot potential extends to the lower torso and arms, something neither of the other two snipers can match. This makes it the most forgiving sniper rifle you can use, with its damage being unrivalled.
However, this is kept in check by the LR 7.62’s sluggish handling. It has the worst handling stats of any weapon in Black Ops 6, with its default ADS speed of 600 ms being particularly troublesome. Certain attachments help alleviate this problem, but they don’t fix it entirely. Given how fast-paced this year’s Call of Duty is, this is a con that makes the LR 7.62 tricky to use even with its high damage.
