The Cronen Squall’s popularity exploded with its introduction in Season 3. The battle rifle’s raw firepower cemented it in the meta and it hasn’t left since. Here’s our best loadout for the Cronen Squall in Warzone 2, including the best attachments, perks, and equipment.
On arrival, the Cronen Squall quickly established itself as the best weapon in Warzone 2. Its incredible TTK and fast fire rate made it a great choice in a wide range of situations. It became especially prevalent with the addition of Ranked Play seeing a lot of use with thermal optics, resulting in their eventual ban.
Since then the Squall has seen numerous nerfs with the most recent arriving alongside Season 5. This latest nerf saw its maximum damage and damage multipliers decrease across the board. Even so, it remains a great weapon to use and is still one of the best all-around options to use.
To get the most out of the Cronen Squall in Warzone 2 you’ll need a top-tier loadout, and thankfully we’ve got you covered.

Best Cronen Squall Warzone 2 loadout
Attachments
- Muzzle: TY-LR8 (+0.80, +0.32)
- Barrel: HR6.8 Barrel (+0.39, +0.40)
- Optic: Aim OP-V4 (+2.53, +0.00)
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 (+0.80, -0.23)
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
Our loadout focuses on mitigating the weapon’s significant recoil. When trying to use the Cronen Squall its recoil is the hardest part to deal with so prioritizing its improvement is a must. Without the right attachments, it is impractical to use this battle rifle at long range greatly limiting its potential.
The most impactful attachment to do this is the TY-LR8, which helps horizontal recoil. It’s best to combine that with the FTAC Ripper which reduces Recoil Stabilization, minimizing how much unpredictable left-to-right bounce you have to deal with.
The HR6.8 Barrel increases the Cronen’s effective range and bullet velocity to give you an edge in medium or long-range engagements. Next up, the Aim OP-V4 is a fantastic sight that doesn’t suffer from as much visual recoil as most other higher-zoom optics in Warzone 2.
30 bullets are plenty in Solos and Duos, but we recommend bumping that up to a 50 Round Drum for Trios and Quads. The extra rounds become even more important in Warzone 2 modes like resurgence where players will keep coming back over and over.
Best Cronen Squall Warzone 2 class: Perks & equipment
- Base Perk 1: Double Time
- Base Perk 2: Overkill
- Bonus Perk: Resupply
- Ultimate Perk: High Alert
- Lethal: Throwing knife
- Tactical Equipment: Smoke grenade
Double Time makes it easier to traverse freely, improving the duration of your tactical sprint. We recommend using Overkill to pair the battle rifle with a meta short-range weapon such as the ISO 45 or Lachmann Sub.

Resupply will come in handy over the duration of a long Warzone 2 match, as you start with an additional Lethal and equipment recharges over 30 seconds. Finally, High Alert may save your life on one or two occasions, as vision pulses alert you when an enemy spots you.
To round off the setup, we recommend using throwing knives to finish off downed enemies or take down multiple enemies at once without wasting ammo. And finally, smoke grenades are great for fleeing a gunfight or rotating in the final few circles.

Best Cronen Squall alternatives in Warzone 2
If the Cronen Squall’s TTK doesn’t impress you in the same way it used to, but you still want a powerful fully automatic weapon, look no further than the TAQ V. The battle rifle provides a TTK that leads every other long-range meta weapon.
Alternatively, those that prefer the Squall’s semi-auto fire can consider using the Lachmann-762 which has a tremendous TTK assuming you can handle its difficult recoil.
