Jake Paul takes swipe at KSI over long-standing fight bet that still hasn’t happened

Jake Paul has taken a swipe at KSI over a long-standing claim about their highly-anticipated super fight as he looked back at his pro boxing debut.

The YouTube boxing revolution really took off when the Paul brothers – Jake and Logan – took on the Olatunji brothers – KSI and Deji – back in 2018. Jake comfortably beat Deji and KSI eventually beat Logan in their rematch over a year later in November 2019.

That seemed to set Jake and KSI on an eventual collision course to figure out who’d take overall bragging rights. However, it’s been four years, and despite a lot of chat about it happening, we’re no closer to seeing the longtime rivals in the ring against each other.

While Jake has agreed to fight Ryan Bourland on March 2, he has still found time to take a swipe at KSI as he looks back on his professional debut – which also happened in 2019.

Jake Paul takes dig at KSI over long-standing claim for fight

Jake’s Most Valuable Promotions brand celebrated the fact that he’d first stepped into the ring for a professional fight against AnEsonGib on January 30, 2019.

“4 years ago today Jake Paul fought and KO’d Gib in the first round. KSI had said Gib would KO Jake,” Jake’s promotion brand tweeted before reminding the Brit on his pre-fight wager that appears to still be standing.

“He had also said if Jake beats Gib, he would agree to fight Jake. 4 years later. 185 and we have a fight.”

The weight at which their fight would take place has been a bit of a sticking point in negotiations, given that Jake usually fights at around 200 lbs and KSI has been at 183 lbs.

Such a big weight difference should lead to a catchweight fight, but neither of the YouTube stars will want to give up too much to their rival. So, it remains to be seen if it’ll happen.
