The Baldur’s Gate 3 community expected a new patch today. Instead, they got some trolling from the devs.
The fanbase for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been eagerly awaiting the release of the game’s next big update, Patch 6, ever since it was announced.
Due to the focus on romance additions in the patch’s marketing, many assumed the patch would release on Valentine’s Day.
However, this was not the case, and instead, the devs gave the players a healthy dose of trolling, leaving them in shambles.
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in shock after devs’ Patch 6 trolling
Throughout the day, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community was wondering if or when the Patch 6 would drop, but it never came.
To confirm this, an X post from the devs themselves was shared to the game’s subreddit, in which they wish the players: “Sweet dreams.”

Naturally, the Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are losing it over this news, mainly because they can’t help but respect it.
“Whoever runs the social media accounts for Larian, knows EXACTLY what they’re doing. They know exactly what buttons to press to keep millions of eyes on them. They know how to leverage the goodwill the company has in a fun and funny way.”
Many commented on how they both hate and love this trolling from the dev team.
Others are pointing out that the Valentine’s Day release date was only a conjecture and was never officially confirmed by the devs.
“This is what happens when the community gets hung up on a release date that was never announced. The Larian PR team is doing great here.”
The patch not releasing today is certainly a bummer for many Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, but it is clear that the devs have not lost any goo dwill with their playerbase.
