Apex Legends features a wide variety of diverse characters, including some who are LGBTQIA+.
The Apex Legends roster is not only full of characters with unique abilities, roles, and playstyles but also boasts some fantastic representation for the game’s LGBTQIA+ fans. The battle royale has always championed diversity and continues to represent different communities as new Legends are added.

Bloodhound (Non-Binary)
First up is Bloodhound, who has been confirmed as non-binary. They’ve been in Apex Legends since launch back in February 2019.
The stealthy hunter’s origins were revealed in Stories from the Outlands episode ‘The Old Ways’.
Gibraltar (Gay)
Another of the battle royale’s launch characters, Gibraltar is Apex Legends’ gentle giant. He’s been confirmed as gay by Apex Legends writers.
Apex canon states that, prior to his inclusion in the Apex Games, Gibby and his boyfriend Nikolas stole his father’s motorcycle but quickly became trapped by a mudslide. While his father returned to save them both, it is said to be the incident that taught Gibby how to properly care for others.
Loba (Bisexual)
Loba dropped in Season 5, a deeply complex character mourning the loss of her parents after they were murdered by fellow legend Revenant.
Former Apex writer Tom Casiello has confirmed she is bisexual. Her voice lines remain the most flirtatious of any character, adding to her unapologetic attitude.
Fuse (Pansexual)
Fuse is another late addition to the Apex party, dropping in Season 8. The eccentric Australian is pansexual – meaning he is attracted to people of all genders.

Valkyrie (Lesbian)
The Soaring Aviator known as Valkyrie has been confirmed to be a lesbian by Respawn. In fact, speaking of Valkyrie and her sexuality, Casiello said: “I kind of love that she owns her sexuality outright and isn’t ashamed of it.”
Seer (Pansexual)
Season 10 Legend Seer is also pansexual. In a series of tweets, Respawn’s lead writer Amanda Doiron explained that Seer “sees to the heart of people and doesn’t limit himself to a specific gender”. She later confirmed that he is pansexual.
Catalyst (Transgender)
Season 15 brings Catalyst to the Apex Games and she becomes the first confirmed trans Legend in the game.
In the Last Hope SFTO, Catalyst said: “I feel like the whole world has opened up, now that I’m myself… Transitioning, that was sort of hard.”
Voice actor Meli Grant has also said that the character was deliberately made “inescapably trans”, telling GamesRadar: “The internet’s a confusing place and people like to debate everything… We’ve had enough ambiguity and queerbaiting and visual storytelling and the use of color palettes throughout media, and not a whole lot of just talking about it.”
Mirage (unconfirmed)
Finally, we have Mirage. The bamboozling trickster’s sexuality has not been confirmed, but many fans continue to speculate. There has even been a story of him being attracted to a pumpkin. Each to their own.
That rounds off all the confirmed LGBTQIA+ characters in Apex Legends. The remaining characters are not necessarily straight, they just haven’t had their sexuality discussed or confirmed by Respawn or the community.
Back when Apex Legends launched, community manager Jay Frechette said: “Having a diverse cast is super important. You want everyone to have someone they can connect to.” Clearly, the sentiment hasn’t changed over the years, and as more LGBTQIA+ Legends are confirmed, we’ll add them to this list.
