Apex Legends‘ first season, Wild Frontier, is now well underway, and as many players are now well past the halfway mark in the Battle Pass, they are beginning to look forward to what Season 2 will hold.
Apex Legends Season 1 disappoints
It’s no secret that the contents of the Season 1 Battle Pass were somewhat underwhelming, with only a handful of exciting skins, and a lack of ‘crafting metals’ meaning players would have to rely on randomized Apex Packs to get better skins.
Developers Respawn Entertainment will have undoubtedly heard the largely negative feedback to the additions in Season 1, and will be looking to do better second time around, or at least so fans will hope.
When does Season 1 end?
If you’re one of the many who was left wanting during Season 1, then you might have one eye on what’s coming next, and when. Although there is no ‘official’ end date for the first season, the PlayStation events calendar lists the final day of Season 1 as June 4, 2019.
The in-game ‘battle pass’ timer is set to end on June 18, but this is possibly only related to the battle pass progression availability.
When will Season 2 start?
Although this exact date of June 4 isn’t confirmed by Respawn Entertainment as the end of Season 1, it does line up with the official year one roadmap, which confirms Season 2 will start in June.
Judging by the battle pass end date of June 18, Season 2 will likely start the very next day, on June 19 – Season 1 started on March 19, so these dates would line up.

What’s in the Season 2 Battle Pass?
Although it’s too early to say for certain, players can fully expect some improved legend and weapon skins at the very least. The Season 1 skins were fairly bland, with a lot of army green’s and beige, so surely there will be some more exotic trims for Season 2, based on the feedback from players.
New Weapons
So far, only a single new weapon has been added since release on February 4, the Havoc energy rifle, and there is an air of impatience around the lack of new guns. Data miners have already found weapon models for unreleased rifles, rocket launchers and more, although these could be leftover assets from Titanfall development.
Still, surely a new weapon of some kind will either launch alongside Season 2, or shortly before it.
How to get Season 2 Battle Pass for free
We may not know the exactly what the next Battle Pass will contain, but we do know one thing – you can get it for free (well, sort of).
It will require you to purchase the Season 1 Battle Pass, but, if you successfully rank up all 100 levels, you will earn enough Apex Coins to purchase the next one (provided they price it same at 950 coins).
So, if you have already started grinding through the current battle pass, there is an extra incentive to complete it fully in time for the launch of Season 2.
