The latest Apex Legends patch introduced along with a Double XP weekend includes more nerfs for the Charge Rifle, which has become one of the most powerful weapons in Season 3.

Respawn dropped a new patch for the Charge Rifle on October 25 that came along with a previously announced Double XP weekend for the game.
At the time of writing the patch and the Charge Rifle updates should be live, along with the Double XP weekend.
What are the changes to the Charge Rifle?
The biggest change to the weapon is that it can no longer equip extended energy magazines – so players will be stuck with the same clip size throughout the match.
The base magazine capacity has been increased to 12, which is the same as a common (gray) energy magazine provided before.

Along with getting fewer shots, the weapon will also see a reduced fire rate, and a Respawn dev on Reddit said the exact change would be “From 1.1 shots/sec to 0.95 shots/sec”.
Sniping with the Charge Rifle will also be more difficult after the update with increased damage falloff at longer ranges.
The full list of changes to the Charge Rifle are listed below:
- Charge Rifle can no longer equip extended energy magazines
- Base magazine capacity is now 12 (4 shots)
- Fire rate reduced (increased time in between shots)
- Damage falloff has been modified.
- 90 dmg @ 150m decaying to 30 dmg @ 400m
It’s not the first time the weapon has been nerfed recently either, Respawn took aim at some of the same issues with it in an October 17 patch, which also changed magazine size and damage falloff.
