Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends season two is expected to drop a new legend as well as plenty of bug fixes.

1. Early game speed boost

This tip comes right from the start of a match and is something that isn’t too hard to master. Before you even set foot in Kings Canyon, you can gain a massive speed boost that will help in the early game.

How do you pull it off? Well, just before you land when dropping in, make sure your characters are as horizontal as possible. Once that position is set, get ready to hit that slide button at the moment you hit the ground. This will give you a quick kick of speed and help you cover more distance off the rip.

2. Wall climbing

Wall-climbing and running have been the subject of speculation in the past as another thing from the Titanfall universe that could head to Apex Legends.

While Respawn have killed off any hope of having a confirmed Titanfall-like aspect in-place, it is possible to wall-run to some degree. You can scale heights up to around 3 or 4 times your character’s height by simply running towards a wall while holding your jump button and looking upwards.

Now, it’s not a completely easy mechanic to get to grips with but after some practice, you’ll find yourself being able to reach heights that you never thought were possible before.

3. Finishing moves can save your life

This tip may be a bit more luck based than the others but it’s something that can legitimately help. While finisher moves are usually reserved for claiming another players life in style, if you time it to perfection when in danger, other players will end up missing their chance to claim an easy kill.

The easiest way to pull one of these off, it seems, is with Mirage as the clone Legend will produce two players. Should an enemy end up trying to eliminate you by shooting the clone, they’ll be left embarrassed and miss their chance.

It’s not something that’s guaranteed to work 100% of the time but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you think about performing a finishing sequence after a firefight.

4. Free shield recharge

As well as claiming style points on a kill, performing a finisher can also benefit you should you avoid being eliminated while in the animation.

If you have a Legendary-tier Shield and perform a finishing move, you will receive a full shield recharge. This could be a way of Respawn paying back the players who offer themselves up as sitting ducks for a finisher but it’s definitely something that will aid you in-game.

5. Mastering the Legends

Similar to performing a finisher, setting off an ultimate or tactical ability can lead to a few seconds where you can get locked into an animation and waste valuable time. For example, if you play as Bloodhound and activate the character’s ultimate while zip-lining, you won’t run into the wind-up animation. Instead, players will jump right into the ability immediately and save themselves a few seconds.

On the other hand, you can combine the tactical abilities of Bangalore – Dome of Protection – with Lifeline’s Drone to create a moving dome. This may take some time to line up and perfect but it’s very useful.

Finally, for any Overwatch players that play as Pathfinder – you can use the Legends hook to pull yourself towards an enemy before jumping on them with a melee attack or gun similar to Roadhog’s ability.

Now, there are still plenty of things that go into becoming an Apex Legends champion – especially getting the luck of RNG on your side with loot.

Yet, mastering a few tip and tricks that may even be unknown to players who have played the game since launch day will give you an added edge.
