Apex Legends fans are eagerly anticipating the next era of the game which will be introducing tons of new content, but players are now finding clues for a heavily rumored character named Crypto.
Respawn Entertainment are on the verge of launching Season 2 to their game which will be the rallying call for players to grind out more matches in King’s Canyon now that there’s content to rummage through including a new character named Wattson.
As fans prepare for the upcoming trailer that is sure to reveal a lot more in-game features to come, the devs sneaked in a teaser for a surprise reveal that may be on its way to the battle royale soon.
Crypto’s tease in Apex Legends
In a Reddit thread, emerging Apex Legends dataminer and theory crafter ‘FrozenFroh’ showed a mysterious laptop around that could have something to do with the next season’s events.
“The back is using Mendoko’s logo and the main screen is: *Enact Countermeasure Obfuscation* *PING RETURNED: (S/IN: A34X_N25)* *BRACH.INI OPERATIONAL: EXFIL IMMINENT*,” FrozenFroh said, then adding. “And an image of the repulsor is to the right.”
While the laptop doesn’t seem to be much on the surface, the in-game file for that particular element has a blatant connection to the as-of-yet-unannounced legends simply being “crypto_laptop_tease.”
Going by the clues on Crypto’s computer screen, it looks like the character will be causing a lot of mayhem before making an appearance on King’s Canyon.

How does Crypto fit into Apex Legends?
Respawn has been releasing a lot of teasers in the lead up to their new season that have been suggesting all’s been going well with the infrastructure of King’s Canyon.
But going by what FrozenFroh has been theorizing, it seems like Crypto could quickly set loose the natural forces of Solace onto the map including its beasts.
Using his expertise in hacking tech, FrozenFroh thinks that the upcoming legend is going to “jam the Repulsor” that has been protecting the map.
After the system goes down, this will likely be when shear mayhem sweeps King’s Canyon to really open up the events of Season 2 or beyond.
Whether Crypto will be released or even announced in Season 2 is still largely unknown, but it’s starting to be clear that he’ll clearly have an influence in Apex Legends soon.
